i think i'm gonna write a poem today. i haven't written one since... possible past, not counting song lyrics, of course. I only get like, one good one every few years, so I like to spend lots of time on them and really work them over.
i'm about to start nano in a few days, and i'm still only vaguely set on my idea. i'm writing fanfic this year, because i want to get into the whole community feel of it by posting what i've written, and i can't do that with original stuff. i was going to write harry potter fic, but now i think i'm going to get away from fantasy altogether and go with veronica mars. hopefully my lack of fanfic writing ability and my lack of experience with writing mystery/detective stuff won't get in the way of writing 50k words. there's a couple in the series that's on again off again, so i have an excuse to follow the first rule of nano: when all else fails, write PORN. I took advantage of this in a big way last year.
( Altered States )
i'd like to take this moment to say that i don't intend on murdering anyone at this time. thank you.

There's no real reason for the title. I'm not particularly miffy at anyone or anything. Just sounded kinda cute.
I did have a very strange dream last night. Really real. Real enough that I thought I was awake and therefore ignored my alarm for ages and got up late for work.
Also, it's snowing. YAY!
Oh, and also - We went to see Avenue Q last night for Valerie's birthday. I've heard the music a lot, but hadn't gotten to see it. I liked it a lot, though - and don't shoot me for my opinion - some of the acting seemed a bit flat. Don't get me wrong. The music was very on, very professional sounding. Some people had to play multiple puppets and therefore multiple personalities and voices, and that was all very good as well, but there was something about the timing of a lot of the lines that just didn't... ring. I never thought I'd be saying something like that about a broadway show, but uh, I think some of those people needed line readings. -_-; It WAS hilarious though, which I think is the point.
And we found the worst Starbucks in the world, next to the worst deli in the world. Ugh.
Then we had beers, and I got tipsy (yay!) and had a couple of drags off Valerie's cigarette, which are still hanging with me today. In my LUNGS. Why do I do that shit! It was pretty fun to be tipsy and high (on nicotine) on the metro tho. Heh.
